Dear Belgium

Mon Cherie,

It is with deep sadness that I need to tell you something.  We are leaving you. I know, I know you have been noting but wonderful to us.  We have so many great memories that you will always be thought of if not daily till I'm old and gray.

Your mood of constant cold, gray and wetness I have learned to accept as a part of being with you.  Your laid back attitude, combined with your grand beauty will never be matched to anything else I will ever know.

I have so much enjoyed visiting with your friend Paris, please say Au revoir for me if I don't get to see her before we go.

Merci, Merci Merci for everything and I hope to see you again in my life time.

Love,

Jill, Joe and Foxy

Oh. I am sad . . .
For you because i know you were not expecting to leave this soon. For me too because I have loved looking at my home country through your eyes. Your posts brought back so many memories of my childhood and youth. I have loved your quirky take on your surroundings and your openness to accept our national rain and national character.
Wherever you go next I hope you will continue to blog and share pictures and observations of your new environment.
When are you leaving? And where are you heading to? You can call me on Skype if you are on that network.

That post made me cry, but I'll be glad to have you back on this side of the Atlantic.

Dear Jill, Joe, and Foxy,
I know how much you have enjoyed this venture. It has been great for us too. If not for you, we never would have visited all the wonderful places you took us. You have much more to look forward to and you have a way of making the most of every situation. Thanks for our memories also. Love, Mom and Dad

Thank you for the wonderful comments. I to was a little bit of a mess when I wrote that letter - basically the day I found out we were leaving I wrote it so all the emotions were fresh and I didn't have time to think about adjusting to the move.

We are actually moving to LA. You know very close to where the fires were (santa clarita) I can't think of any worst culture shock than LA. I haven't driven for almost 2+ years and now I will be living in a car. Not to mention the lifestlye change. I will however love and welcome the sunshine. (not the fires and earthquakes though) Yes another blog will be in the works...just have to think of a good name - how can there not be good stories in LA for my blog.
