2 post kind of day

It is 6:30 p.m. and it is 77 and sunny out right now! Not to mention today the sales started. What more could I ask for today. Anyway, yesterday I was interview by a graduate student about being a trailing spouse. Many of you know I like it here and just can’t compare the US to Belgium because they are two totally different worlds to me. The question came up yesterday about what do I miss about the US. The only thing that came to mind was my friends, family & peanut butter. Last night Joe & I were surfing some sites and one more thing occurred to me that I miss. SQUIRRELS!

Is she not just the cutest, fluffiest squirrel you have ever seen!!!!!!

So Anne if you are reading this, please add squirrels to my list. Also I may be in trouble cause Joe didn't want this photo on the blog. (photo by M. Rossow)

When I was a child, my grandfather and I used to walk through Le Bois off the end of the Avenue Louise. There were plenty of red squirrels hopping about from branch to branch. Have they all disappeared, I wonder?

I, too, missed the squirrels when we lived in Brussels. With a large woods at the back of our property, we now have a lot of the cheeky critters.

I believe when you come back for a visit and go to the cabin you will get your fill of the noisy squirrels. They do not get along with each other and chatter constantly. What will you miss of Belgium when you are back in the US? I think your experience with all that you have seen is not letting you fully miss all that is waiting for you. Mom

i have never seen a squirrel here in the Le Bois or any where else. Last weekend we saw a deer on the side of the road and once when Joe was riding his bike he saw a wild boar but no cute small furry animals.

You can get peanut butter (really good stuff too, the kind you have to stir up when you first open it) at a chain of stores called "Bio Planet".

There are squirrels here too, they're just mostly the red kind.
